A Flower Tour

I was playing with my camera taking pictures of our flowers in the farm-yard these were taken on May 20.  The bleeding hearts are my favorite spring flowers, they seem to grow into a bush full of flowers overnight.  20120524-000922.jpgPink Bleeding Hearts

It’s a Jungle Down There

I’ve been using Aerogrow hydroponic micro-nutrient supplement in my water this year and does it ever work!  I have a jungle of tomatoes – they have slowed down a little now that I am able to open a window in the room.    Yesterday I had to take a light bulb out just to move the tomatoes – the tomatoes had grown around it.  The seedlings receive 16 hours of fluorescent grow lights a day and they have a fan oscillating in front of them which helps keep them sturdy and not leggy.  They will be brought outside slowly over 2 weeks so they can adapt to their new environment otherwise they will burn and flop over.

The April Garden in North Dakota

This is what I worked on yesterday afternoon…

I planted onion plants that arrived in the mail about a week ago – a little late, hopefully they will grow.  I also planted garlic, broccoli, cabbage, celery, carrots and peas.

Here is some progress of some other plants around the yard
