We picked up another job near Pond Creek so we’ll be around for a few more days. On Friday we were working on canola but it was so windy we shut down until the wind settled.
Brett and I headed to Enid, OK for lunch and a little playtime. We ate at a Mexican restaurant – it was really good! We found Leonardo’s Discovery Warehouse last year and wanted to make it back this year. Brett headed right for the train table.
Our boys are happy if they have trains, trucks, tractors or planes to play with. They had a ferret out to pet but Brett wanted nothing to do with that.
We headed back just in time for everyone to meet back at the campers. Mick and Max were returning from North Dakota. They flew home on Monday to spray our fields. We started back up on canola and finished Saturday.

The kids and I went to the farmers market in Enid Saturday morning. They had a potato race setup. We built potato cars and let them go. They didn’t make it very far but we had fun. We enjoyed watching a local band play while the boys ate some cookies from a bakery booth. I bought some sour dill pickles – they really make you pucker. But they are so good! I also bought a casserole carrier to bring meals out to the field and a couple of hand towels that are supposed to get softer after each use. I always try to support the local farmers market if I can find one. The farmers market was pretty busy today. We enjoyed fresh squeezed lemonade on our way to the parking lot. We will be working on wheat tomorrow.
